El sábado 26 de noviembre se realizará la 2da cumbre socio ambiental de escala regional organizada por la Asociación Regional Ambiental de O’Higgins (ARAO) y la sede regional del Instituto Nacional de Derechos Humanos (INDH).

¿Cómo seguimos? Esta es la pregunta que enmarca la segunda versión de la Cumbre Socioambiental Regional, organizada por ARAO (@arao6region) y la sede regional del INDH, la cual contará con exposiciones de líderes territoriales de las tres provincias de la región, y que se realizará el sábado 26 de noviembre entre las 9:30 y 13:30 horas en el Liceo Bicentenario Ignacio Carrera Pinto, comuna de San Vicente de Tagua Tagua.
La instancia parece llegar en un momento oportuno. El cansancio entre activistas ambientales fue la tónica, luego de la Convención Constitucional, lo que se acompañó de desesperanza tras el rechazo de la propuesta de nueva Constitución. A pesar de este resultado, el activismo ambiental continúa en los territorios. Por esto, las tres preguntas que orientarán la cumbre serán: ¿cómo seguimos? ¿Qué estrategias podemos seguir a nivel regional? ¿Qué hacemos con este escenario provincial?
ARAO sigue impulsando su propósito de construir un marco regionalizado de los asuntos ambientales de la región. El primer bloque de la instancia (9:30 a 11:45 horas) invita a volver a poner los ojos en lo ocurre en los territorios de la región, vislumbrando la relación entre derechos humanos y el medio ambiente, e incentivando a la acción solidaria y colaborativa, la participación ciudadana, que permitirá adquirir nuevas herramientas para identificar y mediar conflictos socioambientales.
El segundo bloque (12:00 a 13:30) permitirá caracterizar y proyectar la situación ambiental de cada provincia. En esto, se incentiva una mirada propositiva de las acciones colectivas, para encontrar salidas a las situaciones con un enfoque regenerativo. Este bloque contará con la exposición de líderes de organizaciones ambientales de San Vicente de Tagua Tagua, Litueche, San Fernando y Coltauco (ver afiche y programa).
La cumbre es una oportunidad única en el año para reunir a líderes ambientales de toda la región, y permitirá establecer algunos lineamientos comunes de cara a los desafíos del 2023. A pesar de las distancias geográficas, son múltiples los objetivos, causas y estrategias comunes que se persiguen.
De forma paralela, la agrupación ARAO impulsa una encuesta ambiental comunal, con el propósito de caracterizar la situación de las 33 comunas del territorio y seguir construyendo este marco regionalizado de los asuntos ambientales. Esta sería la primera vez que se elabora un catastro de manera sistemática, por iniciativa de organizaciones socioambientales de la región.
