De su sorpresa por cómo ciertas personas que hablan y distorsionan, por ejemplo, el conflicto Rusia-Ucrania, atribuyéndole a Putin adhesión comunista, y de su apoyo a Boric en la elección presidencial, nos habla Claudio Narea, ex prisionero.

Nos encontramos con Claudio Narea en Alguita Marina (food truck), quien abrió un espacio de sus vacaciones en Pichilemu para compartir con sus fans, firmar su libro “Los Prisioneros, biografía de una amistad” y conversar con El Regionalista.
Este es un libro que está relatando tu historia en el paso por Los Prisioneros desde el concepto de la amistad. ¿Qué de esa experiencia es lo que sientes que ha sido más significativo para ti?
Cuando pasó el tiempo me di cuenta que era la única historia que podía narrar, que jamás había pensado que iba a escribir un libro. Sí sabía que tenía una gran historia para contar, y la historia que escribí me sorprendió mucho, en ese sentido, es que yo estaba sorprendido de los alcances de todo esto: partimos como un grupo de amigos, y la amistad era muy importante. Al pasar el tiempo, me doy cuenta que sorprendentemente, para otros, era más importante el dinero, o el poder que te da ser famosos, y bueno, al final, uno puede decir muchas cosas, pero lo más importante es que lo que uno hace, lo más relevante es todo lo que he aprendido. Tomando distancia de mi paso por Los Prisioneros veo que aprendí sobre la música, y también sobre la vida, lo que te enseña haber vivido situaciones insólitas, y también otras situaciones muy grandes y magníficas, como haber tocado en el Estadio Nacional ante tanta gente. Pero no es lo único, porque la gente se queda con la historia que vivieron cada uno de ellos. Si para alguien Los Prisioneros significó la lucha contra la dictadura, las canciones, las fiestas con los amigos, los conciertos o si alguna canción marcó su vida, para mí todo eso está bien, pero yo no viví eso; yo viví otra cosa, para mí no son significativos ni siquiera los números uno, el aprendizaje de vida es lo importante, haber estado con gente que decía una cosa y hacía otra, eso para mí es sorprendente.
En el plano político, Los Prisioneros nacieron en un contexto que fue significativo, el mensaje en su música, su vinculación de arte y política, ver cómo se transforman hoy en un himno de la resistencia, ver en las calles a las multitudes cantando las canciones en las calles, que tu creaste en un garage con tus amigos, lo político y lo artístico, ¿es algo en lo que siempre han estado vinculados?
Sí, pero no fue algo que de chico lo trajera, Miguel vivía en la población San Miguel donde había muchas más movidas políticas, como barricadas, pero en mi casa no pasaba eso; vivíamos a pocas cuadras, pero mi barrio era más tranquilo. Pero, claro, empezamos a tocar el año 82 cuando estaban empezando las protestas. De a poco, me fui empapando de eso, yo estudié un par de años en la universidad, y conocí el tema político de primera fuente: las protestas sucedían en el centro y yo estaba ahí, y no podía no tener un juicio respecto de lo que estaba pasando, empecé a entender, a enterarme de a poco, se hablaba de presos políticos, de detenidos desaparecidos, pero nada salía en los medios, no había información en la televisión, (en esa época) no había internet, no había nada. Con esa poca información fui tomando partido, y para cuando fue el Sí y el No, nos metimos a dar opinión respecto de todo lo que estaba pasando en Chile.
En el contexto de Chile de hoy, ¿cuál es tu opinión respecto de lo que está pasando con la Convención Constitucional, con el nuevo presidente con vistas a un nuevo Chile, lo ves real?
Una cosa es lo que sucede en la realidad, y otra es lo que sucede en las redes sociales. Me sorprende la cantidad de gente que habla con una supuesta autoridad y lo distorsiona todo, por ejemplo, lo que sucede en el conflicto de Rusia y Ucrania y alguien dice que Putin es comunista y resulta que no lo es. Entonces, siento que hay que estar informado para poder opinar, o solo se está desinformando, que sucede demasiado hoy día. Con respecto a Boric y Kast, sentí que tenía que tomar partido por Boric y me ofrecí a tocar, a participar. Aunque se habla mucho de que es joven y no sabe tanto, lo prefiero ante el otro candidato que habla de perseguir opositores políticos: se nota que le gusta mucho la dictadura de Pinochet, para él, esas son cosas normales, o como lo que está sucediendo hoy entre Rusia y Ucrania, están todos locos, he leído mucho sobre psicopatía y hay muchos psicópatas que no van matando gente, tienen otro tipo de ambiciones, van escalando en la política, en ámbitos empresariales, en la iglesia. Yo creo que hay demasiado psicópata dando vueltas por ahí, son personas carismáticas que escalan rápidamente en el poder, la gente se entusiasma y vota por ellos.
Respecto del proceso constituyente, vemos que se están revisando normas sobre los derechos culturales y hoy vemos la precariedad en la que estamos post pandemia. ¿Cómo lo has vivido tú en tu medio? ¿Ves en el camino constituyente una salida para resguardar esos derechos?
Por ejemplo, el Senado votó en contra de dejar el agua como un bien de uso público, puede ser una de las razones para sacar el Senado, esa y muchas más ideas de cómo compartimos las cosas importantes. En ese sentido, yo veo que la Convención va bien, a pesar de que ha habido gente que ha hecho algunas cosas disparatadas, confío y espero que la Convención haga bien este trabajo. Finalmente, lo voy a apoyar, voy a votar apruebo, espero que sean mayoritariamente ideas positivas para la mayoría, de eso se trata la nueva Constitución. La derecha, por otro lado, lo que quiere es que permanezca la mayor parte de la Constitución de Pinochet. De eso se trata su movida, la derecha está fuera de lugar, porque no les interesa apoyar cambios y la gente, mayoritariamente, quiere cambios, y sobre todo ese es el punto, hoy el agua es solo negocios de algunos. Hoy vemos en Petorca, que los mismos que se roban el agua son los que están haciendo negocio con ella, es impresionante la desfachatez de muchos empresarios, se pasan.
Respecto a lo que estás haciendo en la música hoy en día, aparte de escribir el libro, ¿sigues tocando con Profetas y Frenéticos o como solista?
Actualmente soy el único de Los Prisioneros que está tocando, estaba con conciertos hasta hace poco, pero tuvimos que parar porque todos los conciertos empezaron a suspenderse. Yo no entiendo cuál es la lógica de esto, porque se hace un Lollapalooza y no se puede tocar en Linares, íbamos a tocar y no se podía, pero Lollapalooza va a pasar sin problema. Está claro que los músicos chilenos no tienen mucho peso en cuanto a exigir, pero sí un empresario como Lollapalooza, lo puede hacer. Yo espero que esto cambie pronto y que con Boric se regule de mejor manera para nosotros. Sí ha sido difícil, para mí; no tanto como para otros: yo soy el productor de los libros, tengo discos que he grabado y soy el dueño de los discos, y me muevo. En septiembre, volví a tocar y se mueve, toco bajo mi propio nombre, tengo bastante repertorio de Los Prisioneros con 5 discos, de Profetas y Frenéticos tengo 3 discos y mi repertorio de solista que tengo 3 discos, así que puedo tocar conciertos súper largos. Tengo algunas cosas programadas: un viaje a Colombia en marzo y otras cosas, pero se está viendo porque también cosas que se anunciaron se han tenido que bajar. Ojalá que todo cambie.
¿Cuál es tu canción favorita?
No tengo canciones favoritas, me gustan varias canciones y otras me gustan menos. De Los Prisioneros, encuentro que es notable “El baile de los que sobran”, me parece que es una gran canción, que es muy sencilla en sus acordes, pero esa es la gracia, es una canción que dice mucho y que es sencilla a la vez; “Quieren dinero” también es una gran canción; “Nunca quedas mal con nadie” también me gusta, pero es una canción que si uno se fija en la letra, ya no tiene mucha relación con lo que pasa hoy día, salvo si uno se queda con la idea del coro, que es algo universal. Canciones mías también hay muchas que me gustan, que son mucho más desconocidas, pero a los fans que me siguen les gustan bastante. Además, yo empecé a creerme el cuento fuera de Los Prisioneros, dentro Los Prisioneros, para mí, éramos más un grupo de amigos que tocábamos y lo pasábamos bien. Después, empecé a escribir canciones para Profetas, también hay algunas que me gustan. En mi carrera de solista tengo canciones como Despertar, El secreto de la paz, y todas son canciones que las estamos tocando.
¿Cómo es la relación que tienes hoy con Miguel y Jorge, después de todo lo que le ha pasado?
Yo di una entrevista hace algunos meses diciendo que habíamos vuelto a hablar con Jorge, de hecho está escrita en el libro parte de las conversaciones, porque estuvimos conversando durante un mes. Yo ahí dije que me llamó mucho la atención que yo estuviera escribiendo el libro y que él me contactara, porque él me contacto por Instagram con un seudónimo, yo tuve que distinguir si era realmente quién decía, yo lo interrogué con cosas del colegio que nadie sabía y respondió bien, asumí que era él y empezamos a conversar. Cuando le dije que yo estaba escribiendo un libro y que pensé que era una buena idea poner parte de la conversación, me dijo que ok, pero no iba a confirmar nada, para él nunca sucedió, para mí sí sucedió y yo cuidé que lo que escribí dentro del libro no le afectara, porque hablamos cosas bastante íntimas y nada de eso lo puse, pero yo siento que estamos en paz con él aunque nunca lo va a reconocer. Con Miguel dejamos de tocar, estuvimos tocando hasta antes de la pandemia, pero él consideró que ya no quería tocar, así que estoy tocando solo.
Claudio Narea se queda con ganas de volver a Pichilemu, sobre todo a Cáhuil que lo ha cautivado, esperamos que en una próxima oportunidad podamos escuchar sus canciones, ese amplio repertorio que recorre su historia y la historia de la música popular chilena, que ya es parte de cada uno de nosotros.
