En el valle del Cachapoal, en el entorno del río del mismo nombre, una serie de localidades rurales dan un sello distintivo al territorio con su paisaje mediterráneo, cerros y poblados de origen colonial que brillan con un trazo arquitectónico único. Es la característica de la línea de poblaciones que avanza entre Quinta de Tilcoco, Guacarhue y Zúñiga. Aunque muy castigada por los terremotos de 1985 y 2010, Zúñiga, en la comuna de San Vicente, ha destacado por la reconstrucción de sus casas patrimoniales familiares, conservando su línea constructiva original.
Desde 2023, se está llevando a cabo el proyecto “Zúñiga cuida su patrimonio”, financiado por el Servicio Nacional del Patrimonio Cultural, a través de los Fondos del Patrimonio 2023. La iniciativa busca restaurar y conservar preventivamente fachadas y techumbres de 16 de las 23 construcciones protegidas por la declaratoria de Monumento Nacional en categoría Zona Típica, vertiente que está a cargo de la arquitecta Beatriz Valenzuela. Pero con la idea de involucrar a la comunidad en el valor patrimonial superior de Zúñiga, el proyecto desarrolla también un componente de participación ciudadana, a cargo de Héctor Sancho.
En esta última línea, se encuentra el concurso familiar de retablos “Zúñiga cuida su patrimonio”, que convoca a confeccionar una maqueta a escala -un retablo- de una de las 16 fachadas intervenidas en el proyecto. Pueden participar personas de cualquier comuna de la Región de O’Higgins, si bien el foco de la difusión está puesto en la comuna de San Vicente y la participación puede ser individual o familiar (pensado para niños, niñas y adolescentes en este último caso).
El concurso se encuentra abierto desde el 1° al 30 de noviembre y se debe formalizar la inscripción a través de un formulario online, a través del QR o el enlace que se encuentra en los afiches físicos instalados en distintos puntos de la comuna de San Vicente, o en los afiches digitales difundidos desde la cuenta de Instagram @retabloszuniga.
En el mismo enlace de inscripción se encuentran las bases del concurso, los premios y los criterios de evaluación.
Las obras quedarán en custodia del Comité para la Conservación y Restauración de la Zona Típica de Zúñiga y serán expuestas en diferentes espacios de la región.
La ceremonia de premiación y el cierre del proyecto, ya con obras de conservación y restauración terminadas, tendrá lugar el 11 de enero en la plaza de la iglesia de Zúñiga, en horario por confirmar. Los premios para el primer lugar consideran una estadía de un fin de semana para 5 personas en Pichilemu, una tarde de tinajas calientes para 2 personas y un canasto con productos de alimentación patrimonial de la región y en todos los casos, materiales para confección de retablos.
Taller de confección de retablos
En el contexto del concurso se realizará un taller de apoyo en técnicas de creación de retablos, abierto a todo público, este domingo 10 de noviembre, de 15:30 a 19 horas en la plaza de la iglesia de Zúñiga.
En el taller se enseñarán técnicas para trabajar la fachada, las puertas, ventanas y molduras y la techumbre con diferentes materiales como barro o arcilla, madera, cartón y pintura. El taller es gratuito y contempla materiales para los participantes.
