En octubre de 2022 falleció la investigadora y académica de la Universidad de La Frontera, Marianela Denegri, referente de las ciencias sociales en el país. Destacó por su empatía y preocupación por otras, que en pandemia se vio reflejada en sus aportes de nuestras infografías sobre salud mental. “Me preocupa el tema de los efectos del teletrabajo en las mujeres. En todas y especialmente en las académicas, en el bienestar, salud, salud mental y productividad”

El 27 de octubre pasado, ocurrió el fallecimiento de la Dra. Marianela Denegri Coria (1955-2022), de quien podría describir un sin número de cargos, actividades y reconocimientos para mostrar la importancia de su carrera para las ciencias sociales en Chile.
Podría decir que era académica de la Universidad de la Frontera (UFRO) e investigadora en sicología económica, ciudadanía y género, que estudió sicología en la Universidad Católica de Chile, que hizo su doctorado en sicología en la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (España), que era directora del Núcleo Científico y Tecnológico en Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades de la UFRO e integrante del Comité Directivo del Consejo Latinoamericano de las Ciencias Sociales (CLACSO), parte de la directiva del Colegio de Psicólogas y Psicólogos de Chile, y representante de la Asociación Red de Investigadoras (RedI) en el Consejo de la Asociación Redes Chilenas de Investigación (Rech). Y así podría seguir completando párrafos llenos de referencias a sus indiscutibles méritos como académica, que la posicionan en la cabeza del desarrollo de las ciencias sociales en Chile, un desarrollo que realizó desde la región de la Araucanía. Pero eso también se puede encontrar en internet donde, sin duda, hallarán más información que la que les comparto aquí en forma resumida. Es por esto, que luego de darle varias vueltas, prefiero compartir con ustedes frases y anécdotas que la retratan mejor como profesional y persona. Sepan disculpar si no soy capaz de reflejarla a cabalidad; con que al menos transmita un 0,1% de su esencia, me doy por satisfecha.
Conocí a Marianela cuando ingresó como socia a la Red de Investigadoras a inicios de 2018 y en estos casi 5 años forjamos una bella amistad. Escudriñar nuestros mensajes remece memorias y recuerdos…
Las mujeres en ciencias sociales sufrimos una doble discriminación me decía, porque a pesar de ser mayoría en estas áreas, muy pocas llegan a ocupar cargos directivos en las universidades y centros de investigación. Su experiencia permitía siempre poder discutir las temáticas más allá de lo obvio.
Marianela era una mujer muy generosa, siempre dispuesta a colaborar, poniendo su conocimiento y redes a disposición de los grupos a los cuales pertenecía.
“Estoy en Colombia, iré a dos universidades con muy buenas investigadoras. ¿Nuestra red esta abierta a investigadoras extranjeras? Porque quería contarles y, si se puede, invitarlas”
Marianela fue la representante de la Red de Investigadoras en el Consejo de la Asociación Redes Chilenas de Investigación (Rech), donde hay más de 10 organizaciones, por lo que es un espacio complejo por su diversidad y por la amplitud de temas que se tratan en ese espacio. Fue muy generosa y comprometida en el ejercicio de este cargo.
Gracias a ella, desde la Asociación Red de Investigadoras pudimos organizar ciclos de seminarios en conjunto con el Núcleo Científico y Tecnológico en Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades de la UFRO como “Las perversiones del Neoliberalismo”, “Entre el conocimiento y el poder: pensando una nueva constitución”, y “Mujeres reconstruyendo al Chile postpandemia” e incluso idear un proyecto de un libro que quedó pendiente.
Una y otra vez se repetían mensajes como: “Espero este todo mejor para el seminario, nosotros seguimos trabajando para la organización. Te mantendré informada y no te preocupes, mi equipo UFRO es fantástico”. En frases como esta también se muestra su reconocimiento a los grupos de trabajo a los cuales pertenecía. Sobre el Centro de Psicología Económica decía “sí, son múltiples temáticas y muchos investigadores, pero es bonito ver como van creciendo desde sus primeros intentos de armar un proyecto y verlos después defender sus tesis”.
Marianela siempre estaba atenta a las discusiones del acontecer nacional y manifestaba sus opiniones en forma clara y asertiva. Tras octubre de 2019, con respecto a las noticias de quienes supuestamente habían producido y/o intervenido en el estallido social me comentaba, “si hacen estas afirmaciones, deberían responsablemente ser capaces de probarlas. Es el momento que la ciencia exija verificaciones, ese puede ser un gran aporte. Además, que el famoso Big Data puso un halo de sospecha sobre la seriedad de los análisis, especialmente desde las ciencias sociales y eso me duele mucho”.
La Dra. Denegri siempre buscaba cómo aportar en su área, para ella era muy importante realizar transferencia tecnológica desde las ciencias sociales para construir bienes públicos. En 2021 me escribía “nos sacamos el premio a los equipos científicos que hacen transferencia tecnológica de la Red de Gestores Tecnológicos, por nuestro modelo de educación financiera que licenciamos al Centro de Políticas Públicas de la Pontificia Universidad Católica y en trámite a Banco Estado. Estamos dichosas, un equipo de 4 mujeres que llevamos trabajando en esto más de 10 años con el apoyo de la Oficina de Transferencia y Licenciamiento (OTL) de nuestra universidad”. Este premio fue otorgado por el Ministerio de Ciencias, Tecnología, Conocimiento e Innovación (CTCI), CORFO (Corporación de Fomento de la Producción) y la Red de Gestores Tecnológicos de Chile (RedGT).
El 4 de agosto del año 2022, Marianela nos envió la resolución exenta 1895 de la Universidad de la Frontera que aprobaba un Convenio de Colaboración entre la Universidad de La Frontera y la Asociación Red de Investigadoras. Como lo deben imaginar, por supuesto este convenio lo gestionó Marianela, convirtiéndose en el primero de su tipo que como Red tenemos con una universidad en Chile.
Una de las características de Marianela, era su empatía y preocupación por otras, que en pandemia se vio reflejada en sus aportes de nuestras infografías sobre salud mental. “Me preocupa el tema de los efectos del teletrabajo en las mujeres. En todas y especialmente en las académicas, en el bienestar, salud, salud mental y productividad”. Además, desde Temuco estuvo muy preocupada por una socia en Santiago, gestionó que un médico fuera a verla, y que otra socia la visitara; finalmente, la socia tenía pielonefritis y tuvo que ir al hospital. Esa era la Dra. Marianela Denegri.
En lo más personal, ella quería mucho a sus dos gatas. En marzo de 2022, estaba muy angustiada porque su gata se había perdido. La gata Bastet volvió a las 4 de la mañana porque quedó atrapada en el techo de la vecina que estaban reparando. Bastet no pudo salir más hasta que terminaron los arreglos de su vecina.
Su último premio fue el que le entregamos como Asociación en nuestro aniversario, el premio a la trayectoria. No nos pudo acompañar, nos dejó un video de agradecimiento. Le envié fotos, estaba contenta y le entregué el Premio a su adorado hijo.
Por cierto, podría comentarles las innumerables veces que conversábamos sobre problemas del país, de las ciencias o de la red, nos enojamos juntas, nos reímos. No por nada, como ella siempre decía: somos las nietas de las brujas que no pudieron quemar…
