Ya había sido elegido para su segundo período el presidente Manuel Bulnes, y la Universidad de Chile recién completaba cuatro años desde su creación, cuando en Rancagua, el 29 de julio de 1846, iniciaba su marcha el Liceo Oscar Castro Zúñiga, que este sábado cumple 177 años de vida.
El que hoy es liceo Bicentenario aún conserva su tradición humanista científica cuyo espíritu lo ha templado su lema original “Labor omnia vincint improbus” o “el trabajo tesonero todo lo vence”. Es uno de los liceos más antiguos del país y es de la misma data que el liceo Neandro Schilling de San Fernando, ambos fundados bajo la administración del mencionado mandatario conservador, Manuel Bulnes.
El Regionalista pudo conversar con su directora, Marcela Droguett, asumida recién este año, quien pormenorizó las principales actividades que se desarrollarán en torno al aniversario del liceo e hizo una síntesis de la importancia de esta institución. “El liceo es uno de los más importantes de la región y uno de los ocho más destacados del país. Cuenta con una matrícula de 2400 estudiantes con 30 cursos que funcionan en la mañana –2°, 3° y 4° Medio– y 30 por la tarde -7°, 8° y 1° Medio– y trabajan en él más de 200 funcionarios”.
Le tocó asumir en un tiempo complejo, con un inicio que no le fue fácil, y quiere que su impronta como directora no solo esté marcada por los buenos resultados en pruebas estandarizadas: “queremos darle importancia a una formación integral, darle fuertemente al trabajo deportivo, al arte, la cultura, tenemos bandas de jazz y rock y una orquesta sinfónica espectacular, y estamos sacando mucho al liceo para que interactúe con la comunidad”.
El presidente del centro de alumnos del liceo, Tomás Diaz de 4° Medio, valora la institución y su pertenencia a ella, puesto que el liceo es “mucho más que mi liceo, es la institución escolar en que ha estudiado toda mi familia, y donde ya llevo seis años, de la que me enamoré y que siento como mi hogar”.
“La comunidad liceana nos enorgullece, dice la presidenta del centro general de Padres, Pamela Saez para quien “el liceo es el principal de la región, el lugar donde se entrega buena formación, buenos aprendizajes, es una institución que prepara para el éxito y el desarrollo profesional; el equipo directivo, el cuerpo docente y paradocentes hacen un trabajo maravilloso”.
Por la institución han pasado figuras emblemáticas de la región y el país como exministros, parlamentarios, ex rectores de universidades, parlamentarios, intendentes, alcaldes, artistas, científicos y destacados docentes.
Programa de actividades del 177° aniversario del Liceo Oscar Castro
Viernes 28 de julio: a las 11:00 horas, romería a la tumba donde están depositados los restos del insigne poeta, ex alumno y quien ha dado su nombre al liceo, Oscar Castro en el cementerio N° 1 de Rancagua. Asistirán más de 150 estudiantes, docentes, exalumnos y habrá una declamación, así como las palabras de Lorena Valdivia, encargada de patrimonio del liceo.
Domingo 30 de julio: 12:00 horas almuerzo tradicional de camaradería que reúne a exalumnos.
Viernes 4 de agosto: Actividades de aniversario encabezadas por alumnos, competencias y fiesta de los estudiantes del liceo hasta las 02.00 am.
Miércoles 9 de agosto: acto oficial de los 177 años a las 18:30 horas en el gimnasio del liceo. Palabras de la directora, premiación a docentes y número artístico en el que se pretende contar con la participación de la pianista Mahani Teave.
