En el marco de la Conferencia Internacional IAPA 2024 (International Advances on Pesticide Application), el chileno Patricio Abarca y el italiano Marco Grella, de la Universidad de Turín, fueron reconocidos con la distinción internacional entre gran cantidad de postulantes de todas partes del mundo y recibirán su reconocimiento en Brighton, Inglaterra, el próximo 24 de enero.
El profesional es parte del Instituto de Investigaciones Agropecuarias INIA Rayentué, ubicado en la comuna de Rengo, Región de O’Higgins, donde se desempeña hace ya 13 años, con una fuerte especialización en el área de la pulverización agrícola.
El Premio Per Gummer Andersen SIP 2024, otorgado al ingeniero agrónomo Patricio Abarca es un reconocimiento mundial que reciben personas con una trayectoria significativa en el uso eficiente de productos fitosanitarios (plaguicidas) a través de la inspección y regulación de pulverizadores agrícolas, permitiendo con ello, que la investigación y generación de conocimientos sea transferida al mundo agrícola.
“Describo el premio Per Gummer Andersen, como el más importante a nivel mundial en el área de pulverización agrícola. Para quienes trabajamos en temas de uso eficiente de plaguicidas, inspección y regulación de pulverizadores agrícolas, es realmente un verdadero honor. Mas aún ser valorado internacionalmente, cuando en nuestro país aún no se da la importancia que estos temas ameritan”, señala Abarca, quien es magister en Horticultura.
Actualmente, el profesional se encuentra ejecutando dos proyectos en el área de pulverización agrícola: “Optimización de la aplicación de biocontroladores de origen microbiano a través de diferentes técnicas de pulverización en cultivos agrícolas de importancia para la Región de O’Higgins” y “Plataforma interactiva para el desarrollo de mejoras en el control de plagas en cultivo de cítricos a través de la pulverización hidroneumática”, con los cuales continúa profundizando y transfiriendo conocimientos.
