Mónica Cornejo y su familia son héroes del patrimonio regional.
Desde hace dos décadas, paso a paso han ido ampliando el Museo en la antigua estación de ferrocarriles, que ha sobrevivido en su belleza de madera a tres cataclismos: el fin del ramal en 1985 por obra de la dictadura, el levantamiento de la línea por los gobiernos de la Concertación y el incendio del resto del recinto ferroviario ante la dejación de EFE.
Con una entrega sin parangón, por amor a su tierra, historia y comunidad, los Cornejo Pérez lograron ampliar el museo a una zona ocupada y hoy es un imperdible de historia, época y comunidades pervivientes.
