Equipo El Regionalista.
Roberto Villagra, coordinador del área de Formación Ciudadana (FC) de la Corporación Municipal de Rancagua (CORMUN), nos comenta de las actividades que se harán en la capital regional en el contexto de la celebración del día del Patrimonio. El Regionalista conversó con este experimentado profesor, ex dirigente nacional del colegio de Profesores, ex presidente regional y candidato a alcalde de la ciudad. Este fue el tenor del diálogo con el profesor de historia en el que valora la gestión que colocó a Rancagua como sede del Mundial de Fútbol de 1962, que recoge el libro “Rancagua la sede (im) posible del mundial del 62” de Edison Ortiz.
En tu calidad de coordinador de FC de Cormun, ¿cuáles son las principales actividades promovidas para conmemorar esta significativa fecha?
Hay múltiples actividades, entre ellas, de memoria, artísticas, fotográficas, de identidad, etc., sin embargo, hay que rescatar que el trabajo patrimonial es una línea de elaboración dentro del Programa de Formación Ciudadana Comunal que comienza en 2021.
Este año las actividades de los colegios y liceos públicos son parte del conjunto de actividades oficiales reconocidas por el Ministerio de la Cultura y las Artes y que tienen la particularidad de organizarse en torno al rescate de la Educación Pública como Patrimonio Vivo de Rancagua.
Lo anterior es enormemente importante porque conceptualiza al patrimonio no solo como un tema del pasado, sino que rescata la importancia actual de la educación pública, su pasado y presente.
También hay un conjunto de actividades coordinadas con la seremi de Educación que se realizarán en el liceo Oscar Castro. Cuéntanos sobre ellas.
Mira con la seremi Alyson Hadad y la Provincial Cachapoal hemos estado trabajando, en el contexto de memoria y ciudadanía y el día del patrimonio, la conmemoración de los 62 años del Mundial del 62 que se jugó en Chile y una de cuyas subsedes fue Rancagua. Hemos estado preparando una muestra fotográfica con las imágenes perdidas de El Mercurio que se redescubrieron en el liceo Neandro Schilling de San Fernando que se exhibirán en el Patio de los Poemas del liceo y por la tarde, habrá una exposición de memoria con videos sobre el mundial en Rancagua, cantaremos el rock del mundial de The Ramblers y finalizaremos con la presentación del libro “Rancagua: la sede (im) posible del mundial del 62”.
A popósito, del libro, ¿qué es lo que más rescatas de este texto? Por cierto, la memoria de un hecho que puso a Rancagua en un mundo que iba camino de la globalización. Como se puede observar en el texto, el nombre de Rancagua sale en folletos internacionales, en guías turísticas, la ciudad goza de una primera modernización –remodelación del estadio, urbanización, embellecimiento– llegan a Rancagua veedores internacionales, el mismísimo inglés sir Stanley Ross, se aloja en casa de Patricio Mekis, El Gráfico de Argentina, una famosa revista deportiva, le otorga un titular a la ciudad y su estadio –”Aquí Rancagua, allí Argentina” -; también la importancia del mismo torneo con selecciones de la talla de Inglaterra –que sería luego el próximo campeón-, Argentina o la mismísima Hungría con aún jugadores del equipo espectáculo del 54’. Todo eso es muy valioso de rescatar, pero lo que a mi más me llamó la atención dado los tiempos que vive la ciudad, fue la fraternidad política que se vivía en Rancagua en esa época entre su alcalde, Mekis, y los regidores entre quienes estaban el DC Nicolás Díaz y el PS Enrique Leyton, entre otros. Pato Mekis fue capaz de hacer una apuesta imposible –Rancagua subsede del mundial-, en una ciudad que no tenía ninguna condición para serlo y convencer a todo el mundo de ello –a Ditborn, a la FIFA, a la Braden Coopper– y para ello contó con un equipo de regidores que lo apoyó en todo momento y a quien él mismo involucró en ese evento. Por ejemplo, Nicolás Díaz, entre otras cosas, fue el médico auxiliar de la selección argentina. En fin, invitaría a los actuales actores políticos de la ciudad a leer el texto y a empaparse de ese espíritu de cuerpo que hoy no se ve.
Tú también has sido un actor social y gremial con mucha visibilidad, y a propósito de lo que dijiste anteriormente, ¿cuál es tu diagnóstico sobre Rancagua hoy?
Rancagua debe revisar su historia y rescatar allí elementos que le dan su identidad, entre otros, esa capacidad de conversar y colocar el bien común sobre los intereses particulares de los actores sociales y políticos.
Pareciera que hay una fractura muy grande entre la historia, la idiosincrasia, la identidad rancagüina y las nuevas formas de hacer la política comunal, en donde al parecer algunos actores piensan que la historia comienza cuando llegan ellos.
Los gobiernos comunales han administrado, algunos mejor que otros, un sistema absolutamente entregado a una globalización que destruye patrimonio, que favorece a las inmobiliarias más que el rescate del espacio público, que poco ha favorecido al quehacer cultural propio, por ejemplo.
Uno se pregunta, cual es la singularidad de Rancagua, que por cierto existe y es muy rica, respecto de otras ciudades, pero que no logra verse porque no hay una política pública que permita relevar.
Por tanto, hay mucho que hacer en ese rescate de la ciudad, en todos los planos de la vida de la comarca, si no existe dicho rescate, pareciera que no hay diferencia alguna entre una u otra propuesta electoral.
Por último, debemos tener la capacidad de revertir el daño profundo a la confianza colectiva, a propósito de los acontecimientos que involucran al alcalde J. Ramón Godoy y mantienen en tela de juicio a la administración del ex alcalde Soto. La única forma de reesperanzar a la ciudadanía está en la transparencia, la participación ciudadana y la aplicación de justicia para todos por igual.
