Soy Marcia Marambio Rodríguez hija de Joel Marambio y Eudomira Rodríguez.
Leí el artículo que publicaron sobre mi padre; agradezco enorme e infinitamente el reconocimiento de su labor política y humana, que realizó durante gran parte de su vida. Fui testigo de eso y desde chica vi la lucha de él con los campesinos, muchos de los cuales llegaban a conversar con él y a pedirle ayuda en nuestra propia casa. Realmente lo que ustedes escribieron fue un hermoso y merecido homenaje y, repito, se lo agradezco infinitamente, pero también quiero aclararle algunas imprecisiones que aparecen en el escrito.
Mi padre fue preso desde el primer día del Golpe de Estado. Él estaba con un cáncer de estómago desde marzo del 73, por lo tanto, lo dejaron preso en su casa con guardia permanente de carabineros y militares fuera de ella, durante toda su enfermedad. Dejaban entrar al doctor Mujica, el médico y amigo nuestro de toda la vida y al cura de Santa Cruz, que era amigo de él y que siempre quiso que se confesara antes de morir, pero mi padre se negó pues no era católico. Siempre estuvo acompañado por su compañera, su hija Rosita que tenía 3 años, también estaban en la casa mi tía Alicia, mi tía Tere, mi tío Luis.
Yo viajaba desde Santiago constantemente a verlo y pude constatar todos los maltratos que sufrió por parte de los militares, pues le allanaban su cama, lo humillaban, lo acusaban de tener reuniones clandestinas. Cada vez que tenía que entrar la enfermera a colocar medicamentos, teníamos que acudir a la comisaría prácticamente a suplicar por el permiso para que entrara. En fin, aparte de la enfermedad, sufrió todo el dolor de saber lo que vivía su país, su provincia, sus compañeros de lucha.
En vuestro escrito pude leer sobre su muerte y es ahí donde discrepo, pues yo estuve muy cercana durante toda su enfermedad, porque aún estaba aquí en Chile y viajé constantemente a estar con él.
Estuve el día de su fallecimiento y asistí a su funeral, nos permitieron asistir solamente a familiares directos, cerraron el cementerio desde la noche anterior y para el funeral nos permitieron solamente dos automóviles.
Fue muy doloroso pero a su vez emocionante ver fuera de la casa y por la calle de la entrada al cementerio muchas flores y gente que, a pesar de la represión, salió a ver pasar el pequeño cortejo. En el cementerio nos hicieron entrar por un pasillo entre nichos donde, por ambos lados, se encontraban militares apuntándonos con metralletas -como que fuéramos un peligro- y nos hicieron poner el ataúd de mi padre en un nicho sin nombre. Por lo tanto, no es verdad que fue dejado en una fosa común.
Posteriormente, encontrándome yo ya en Cuba y toda mi familia exiliada, mis tías consiguieron sacarlo de ese nicho y ponerlo en tierra como él siempre quiso ser enterrado. Cuando yo vine por primera vez a Chile de visita, ya mi padre estaba enterrado en tierra y me llamó poderosamente la atención que siempre estaba con muchas flores, con velas, con cartas pidiéndole favores y agradeciendo favores supuestamente hechos por él. Ya a estas alturas, mi tía Teresa que vivía en Santa Cruz había fallecido y mis tías tenían a una persona encargada de limpiar su tumba. Posteriormente, mi tía Alicia, Mary y Nelly lograron un permiso y un terreno en el cementerio y construyeron una tumba grande donde trasladaron los restos de sus hermanos ya fallecidos hace muchos años: mi tía Regina, Jaimito y pusieron a mi padre ahí. En estos momentos, en esa tumba se encuentra también mi tía Teresa y mi tía Alicia que falleció estando yo ya aquí viviendo en Chile.
Les cuento esto porque en el escrito hecho por ustedes sale que mi hermano fue el que rescató los restos y lo enterró dignamente y no es verdad lo justo es reconocer y agradecer a mis tías que hicieron todo para que hoy mi padre se encuentre en una sepultura digna, donde es visitado por gente que aún lo recuerda, puesto que su tumba siempre tiene flores.
