Sabiendo hurguetear, Youtube te da tremendas sorpresas como Ven y Mira  o Idí i Smotrí de Elem Klimov (1985), El séptimo sello de Igmar Bergman (1957), en fragmentos está 8 ½ (1963) y completa está La strada (1954), ambas de Fellini, y así sucesivamente para superar ya lejos a la gran plataforma pagada, Netflix. Porque en cine Youtube es mejor que Netflix y Mubi es mucho mejor que Youtube

Lo mío es creer. En el cine, si no hay credibilidad no hay cine, desde su soporte siempre atacando los sentidos, a veces, incluso con estrambóticos efectos como aquellas butacas que se movían en Terremoto (USA, Mark Robson, 1974), hasta lo de siempre, que a la bidimensionalidad se le puede agregar otra dimensión.

Creer también es expectativa, basado en cierto conocimiento del cine, incluso no muy lego. Hay varios que siguen a directores o a actores, según sus presentaciones y palmarés.

Para mí, hoy y desde hace un tiempo, se me ha dado con mis obsesivas sospechas sobre el Netflix (que no pago, pues amigos me lo convidan). Veamos por ejemplo a Scorsese que es un gran director  (basta revisar su filmografía de más de 25 filmes, entre los que destacan Taxi Driver (1976), Toro salvaje (1980), El rey de la comedia (1983), Goodfellas (1990) y Casino (1995)).

Cuando Martin promueve su The Irishman (2019), no queda más que esperar una gran puesta en escena. Sin embargo la película era mala, así de simple, de mala a muy mala.

En la premiación del Oscar, más por presión que por calidad, logró estar nominada a 10 premios, pero obtuvo un huevo. La humilde Parasite estuvo en seis nominaciones y ganó cuatro, entre esos a Bong Joon-ho como mejor director (chúpate esa) y 1917 estuvo nominada también a diez y se llevó tres estatuillas (chúpate esa otra).

Vi El Irlandés y reitero, es de mala a pésima y esperé con decidida morbosidad su debacle en las premiaciones y fui feliz de imaginarme donde se metió el frac, después de esa jornada, nuestro querido Martin. Pero me puse cachúo ¿Por qué uno de los mejores directores exponía todo su capital en esta mediocridad? Dicen que costó 225.000.000 de los verdes y recuperaron 8.000.000. ¿Quién se puso? Netflix.

Acá en la aldea llama la atención cómo los comentaristas le tiran flores a la última novedad de este gigante y pienso que van mojados, lo expreso pues todo el espacio cinéfilo se lo dedican a esta plataforma y, por supuesto, nunca hablan de otras que, en cine, son bastante mejores. Recalcar que en cine Youtube es mejor que Netflix y que Mubi es mucho mejor que Youtube.

No mires para arriba, no merece mayores comentarios, pues acá aparece una sospecha distinta. Como no funcionó lo que se esperaba y para darle más aire a la fenecida cinta, intencionadamente se busca instalar la polémica, en donde por un lado están los que defienden el bodrio y los otros que hacen arcadas sobre su celuloide.

En ambos, sin duda hay un engaño al espectador y todo parte con creer o no. Yo no renunciaré a mi ingenuidad, no puedo, pues soy parte de esta mega producción hace 55 años. Sencillito, más de medio siglo metido en cada sala que se me cruzara para seguir creyendo.

Los dos trailers son fuleros, pomposos y en principio muy llamativos, pero al examinarlos con detención no dicen nada. En el primero, la tríada entre un mafioso sindicalista, un “chico” del trabajo sucio y el presidente Kennedy, en la que se exige el máximo del espectador para pegar y juntar y el pobre espectador agotado se rinde, pues ya en el film, nunca pegó y nunca juntó.

En Don’t look up, sucede peor. Un tipo que tiene asma, que es astronómo, que es casado y tiene de amante a una panelista de tv, un peñascazo que se viene al planeta, un general que se va por dentro con unos confites, paquete o paquetón que quisieron vender como drama o comedia, sin ser ninguna de las dos. Es una peli para reflexionar sobre el futuro, dicen los lunáticos, que no faltan frente a una pantalla, olvidando que el cine es principalmente Arte, sí, así, Arte con mayúscula.

Nos filmamos pronto, ahora voy a ver sí encuentro otro merlot para seguir sospechando.

    Como dicen que para gustos, los colores, a mi sí me gustó El irlandés. Lo de los premios no va mucho, la verdad nunca me ha ido. Pero en la corta; esta ópera de Martín es bastante mejor que 1917 que te deja como cuando comes sin mucha sal. Por cierto que Parásitos ha sido de las grandes sorpresas del cine en los últimos años y qué duda cabe MUBI es todo un lujo.
