Una de las cosas que muchos han aprendido durante la pandemia es que para salir a turistear no hay que viajar en avión a otro país. El costo-beneficio no es conveniente hoy en día. Yo viajo a menudo y, en estos momentos, no viajaría a ningún lado fuera de Chile. Pese al aumento de casos, debido a ómicron, es una isla cuando se trata de la pandemia. Volviendo al tema de vacaciones, nuestra región está llena de lugares hermosos que ni siquiera conocemos. La naturaleza en medio de las montañas es realmente maravillosa. Uno de esos destinos es la Reserva Natural Río Cipreses, en la comuna de Machalí. Otro mucho menos conocido es la Reserva Tipaume, más conocida como Los Tres Chorrillos, un paraíso natural cercano a Rengo. Esta hermosa reserva natural está administrada por unos jóvenes de la zona que se encargan de mantener limpio. Cobran una entrada de 3.000 pesos.
Es importante advertir que el acceso en vehículo no es difícil; tampoco encontrar estacionamiento, pero hay que estar en muy buenas condiciones físicas para visitarlo. Es necesario saber hacer trekking o subir un cerro. Por tanto, zapatillas apropiadas, una botella de agua y un traje de baño son requisitos para este paseo. También recomiendo usar Google Maps o Waze para encontrar el camino en vehículo.
El trayecto desde Rancagua es menos de una hora, pero llegar a las cascadas a pie toma alrededor de una hora. No es apto para personas con problemas de movilidad, ni para niños pequeños. Hay partes que son bastante difíciles porque hay que cruzar en puentes improvisados que pueden ser resbaladizos.
La reserva tiene, además, la gracia de contar con vegetación nativa que tiene sus respectivos letreros en madera. Para los alérgicos, no es necesario tratar de adivinar cuál es el litre, los arbustos están marcados, así que es fácil saber con qué vegetación se está lidiando. Para los extranjeros, es una aventura conocer estos parajes tan diferentes de sus lugares de origen. En particular, para los provenientes de países caribeños nuestros cerros, vegetación, fauna y cascadas son muy diferentes de las suyas.
Tras la caminata de una hora llega el premio mayor, que es la tercera cascada, la más grande y la más helada también. Proveniente de los deshielos de la cordillera, el agua no es helada, sino congelada. En un día de verano se siente bien tirarse al agua gélida tras una hora bajo el sol, pero en otras circunstancias no es nada de agradable.
Para quien quiera combinar ejercicio, aventura y naturaleza, Los Tres Chorrillos es un panorama imperdible. En tiempos de covid, todas estas salidas a lugares abiertos, con aire fresco son una verdadera maravilla. Así que ya sabe, en nuestra Región de O´Higgins tenemos una reserva natural, a 10 kms. de Rengo. No se la pierda.
