Zúñiga, en la comuna de San Vicente de Tagua Tagua, es la muestra concreta de un esfuerzo conjunto de profesionales, vecinos organizados y entidades públicas con el objetivo del rescate del patrimonio dañado y su preservación.
Su nominación como Monumento Nacional en categoría Zona Típica, que protege 87 de sus inmuebles, ha sido fundamental para las tareas de recuperación de casas dañadas por el terremoto de 2010 y una gestión que se ha propuesto establecer lineamientos de intervención que salvaguarden su carácter patrimonial.
Este sábado 01 y domingo 02 se desarrollará un programa que conmemorará los 260 años de la fundación de Zúñiga, los 20 años de su declaratoria de Monumento Nacional y el cierre del programa “Zúñiga cuida su patrimonio” que con recursos del Consejo de Monumentos Nacionales y el liderazgo de la arquitecta Beatriz Valenzuela y Amanda Droguett, ha permitido rescatar parte importante de los inmuebles.
El sábado, las actividades se iniciarán a las 20 hrs. en el frontis de la parroquia de Zúñiga con un concierto de la Orquesta de la Escuela de Música de San Vicente de Tagua Tagua, a lo que seguirá, a las 22:30 hrs., un recorrido guiado por el pueblo.
El domingo a las 10:30 hrs. en la plaza se realizará una muestra de medios de transporte antiguos, a las 11:30 hrs. habrá “Folclore de los viejos tiempos” y a las 12:00 hrs. se celebrará una misa en la parroquia.
Es cierto que Zúñiga no necesita presentación por su excelencia como localidad patrimonial, pero vale la pena ver el resultado del gran esfuerzo de restauración realizado. Un concierto de energías que también pone en valor el patrimonio rural de nuestra región.
